December Flashback

Our heartfelt thanks to the Mehta family for their generous donation that made it possible for us to launch our very own Teacher Coaching App. Over November and December, we’ve we used the app school-wide which has allowed us to gather rich observation data about our teaching practices.

Our outstanding Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) organized a very merry "Christmas Carnival" to celebrate the holiday season with the Gateway Community.
This included wonderfully organized Christmas games, musical performances by a group of moms, a band from Cathedral school and Hindi playback singer, Subhro Ganguly and lots of lovely food to fill our bellies. Students also flew through school on a zipline that was set up for the day!
What a splendid way to celebrate the holiday season and end of another year!
Our students had a double Christmas celebration as a group of teachers went through school and sang carols for the students. Students joined in the carol singing and were led to Grandstand where Santa Claus distributed chocolates to them all!
Students of the Rainbow Riders made their own Christmas stockings with their initials on them as part of homeroom activities, and many homerooms celebrated the end of the year with a potluck or lunch party!

A special thank-you to Dr. S.S. Iyer for spreading joy to our students by dressing up as Santa Claus!

20 students and 5 teachers from a low-income school in Govandi visited us this month. The senior students of the High School Adaptive Program (HSAP) planned for their visit as a part of their integrated Service Learning Program (SLP). Our students gave the visitors a school tour in Hindi and planned a fun-filled session on team building!

Students of Lower School (Super Troupers) and one Middle school homeroom (The Groundbreakers) participated in the Jarul Book Award which is designed to celebrate and honor Indian literature written by Indian authors

The students listened to three books, during their library and language time, and then voted to select the best Indian Picture book. We have submitted our votes and will know the results in January.

The Goal Diggers, our IGCSE students went on a field trip to Darewadi in October. To document their learning, the students created a website in which they presented their takeaways using various media such as a presentation, vlog, speech and blog.
